Niels Oeltjen aka Nails is a multidisciplinary visual artist currently residing in Australia. He gained prominence from his involvement in the influential street-art scene in Melbourne in the mid 2000s, in which he was considered an innovator. He has been exhibiting since 1997 and continues to exhibit his work widely. His working process is project-based, and is inclusive of varying platforms and applications. Tailfeather

Tailfeather invited me to create some motifs to apply to their new range of leather iPhone cases and card wallets. The principle design I created for them features a stylized fish that I first developed as a glyph in a wall piece. I had previously painted the fish on the water tank at Tailfeather HQ in the Tallarook Ranges outside Melbourne.
